New JACC Patient Care Pathway: Adult Woman With Myocarditis After SARS-CoV-2 Infection

In the newest JACC Patient Care Pathway interactive case, a multimodality team of clinicians work together to apply contemporary approaches to diagnosis and treatment related to COVID-19 that complement the recent ACC Expert Consensus Decision Pathway on Cardiovascular Sequelae of COVID-19 in Adults. Specifically, the Pathway explores the case of a 60-year-old woman presenting with fulminant myocarditis nine days after testing positive for SARS-CoV-2 and 16 days after developing COVID-19 symptoms. Her hospital pathway was complicated by ventricular arrhythmias, pseudomonas bacteremia, and the need for veno-arterial ECMO. After being discharged with normal left ventricular systolic function, she developed symptomatic ventricular tachycardia, for which she received an ICD and anti-arrhythmic therapy. Learn more.
