ACC Celebrates World Heart Day on Sept. 29
Today marks World Heart Day – an annual international day of awareness set forth by the World Heart Federation and World Health Organization to increase awareness of cardiovascular diseases and the work to combat their negative global impact. This year’s World Heart Day is focused around three pillars: equity, prevention and community.
ACC is appreciative of its more than 54,000 members from 142 countries, including you, its ACC leadership team, who all work to achieve our Vision of a world where innovation and knowledge optimize cardiovascular care and outcomes. On this World Heart Day, thank you for your commitment to our Mission to transform cardiovascular care and improve heart health.
The College has communications planned throughout the day on social media channels and in newsletters, including reminders to our followers of our breadth of resources, including:
- NCD Academy (https://www.acc.org/ncdacademy)
- Global Hub (www.acc.org/globalhub)
- CardioSmart (https://www.cardiosmart.org/)
- Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at ACC (https://www.acc.org/diversity)
We encourage member leaders to share ACC’s content that will primarily be posted on @ACCinTouch and @CardioSmart Twitter, as well as ACC’s Facebook and Instagram feeds.
When posting content, please tag @ACCinTouch and use applicable hashtags such as #HealthEquity, #cvPrev, and the #UseHeart hashtag that corresponds with the theme this year: “Use ❤ to Connect.”
P.S.: Oct. 1 is the last day to contribute to the ACC's Americares campaign to help clinicians battling COVID-19 in hot spots around the world. You can make twice the impact on COVID-19 relief efforts thanks to a matching gift opportunity from the J.F. Maddox Foundation as designated by ACC BOT member Thomas M. Maddox, MD, MSc, FACC. All gifts to ACC’s Americares campaign will be matched 1:1 up to $25K. Donate here.
